I have been experiencing period-like cramping, excessive discharge, and pelvic pain over the last week. Just visited my OB and learned that I was 1 cm. dilated and that “her head was sitting very low.”. I was at 1 cm about 5 weeks before I actually went into labor. I know that can vary from person to person though. I was checked at 36 weeks and was dilated at 3 cm. Started to have strong like periods cramps 2 days later, and when went in to LD to get checked, I dilated from 3.5 cm to 5 cm within hours.
